We rebranded to Innopay [next generation payments] to focus on consulting in online payment and innovation. Innopay is now serving a global client base. 'Met z'n tienen kun je de hele wereld bedienen'.
As Innopay, we made a name for ourselves with iDEAL, co-created with the Dutch banks. iDEAL is now the leading online payment method in NL, with a market share of over 70%.
Maxcode [next level tech] was started together with two young Romanian entrepreneurs to provide software development for our ideas. Maxcode now serves customers globally, mainly in fintech and DeFi..
To facilitate our strategy and to structure our growing portfolio of activities, we founded Venturepark [a professional playground] as our shared holding company.
Smartpix [active imaging] is the patented technology to render images in email messages in realtime upon opening, using data-driven image templates. AcceptEmail was the first customer.
AcceptEmail, later rebranded to AcceptEasy [paying attention] applied Smartpix to present dynamic, visual requests to pay in emails that updated when the payment status changed.
The Paypers was born out of our need for an online portal focused on payment news. We acquired EPNN in the US and rebranded to The Paypers, which now serves a global audience of payment professionals.
Wannawatt [share your socket] was our answer to the need for charging electric cars. A community platform to share electricity at WattSpots using WattPods to debit-credit kilowatts on members' accounts.
To address the challenge of mobile payment in Europe, we created OK [one real smart wallet]. One app to 'OK' any (multi-)authorisation request sent to it. The most advanced and highly-integrated consent app ever.
Superevent [one app to power all your events] was born from the need to have an app for our payment conferences. It evolved into a full-featured platform to support onsite, online, and hybrid events.
Vlinderstorm [make ripples, cause a storm] was a 'Company-as-a-Gift' to Douwe's son and his best friend upon their highschool graduation with the goal to create Strape within one year.
Strape [Strape eronder. Klaar.] was a fully gesture-based peer-to-peer payment app using Bitcoin. 'Straping' a coin to anyone in your vicinity would simply 'fly' it into their app. Transaction complete.
In our book Alles transactie [everything transaction] we captured everything we learned about digital transactions, platforms, and trust. It won the Dutch 'Management Book of the Year' award in 2019.
